| Hobbs Creek Log Weirs |
LaCas Consultants Inc. and Aqua-Tex Scientific Consultants Ltd. provided design and construction inspection services for the installation of over 30 log weirs within Hobbs Creek at Mystic Vale. The weirs were specially designed to create riffle pool geomorphology, hydraulic diversity, increase DO levels, floodplain utilization, reduce headcuting and energy dissipation within the stream channel to enhance the existing stream channel geomorphology. The PFC approach and Smart Municipal Development was employed as design criteria for this stormwater management project.
